Alpine Garden Capsule Hotel Zurich Airport is a bed for the night at airport prices that Zurich otherwise does not offer: 144 lockable sleeping capsules in eight rooms, landside in Prime Center 1 directly opposite Check-in 1, sold by the night or for day use from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, with two women-only rooms, a bistro open from 5:00 am, a locked luggage room, a co-working corner and hosts on duty round the clock. It opened in 2022 as the largest capsule hotel in Europe and is the only accommodation on this site under CHF 100 that you can walk to from the terminal.

Rooms

There are two capsule types, the Swiss Capsule Lower Level and the Swiss Capsule Upper Level, each about 2 sq m of mattress with a ladder to the upper tier. Capsules have a dimmable light, ventilation, a mirror, a power socket and a photograph of a Swiss mountain landscape on the wall, and they lock from inside. Hand luggage goes in the locker under the capsule, secured with your own padlock or one from the host; larger cases go in the locked luggage room. Bathrooms are shared, with towels, shower gel and shampoo provided, and one bathroom and one capsule are wheelchair accessible. Two rooms are women only.

Breakfast and dining

The bistro and common area sells fresh croissants from 5:00 am, has a cereal bar and offers a continental breakfast for about CHF 11.50; through the day and evening it serves coffee, wine, pizza and snacks. The airport’s own restaurants, bakeries and the Coop supermarket are across the road in the terminal and under Check-in 3.

Facilities and services

Hosts are on duty 24 hours a day. There is a co-working space with desks, a shop for travel essentials and gifts, a locked luggage room, and Wi-Fi through the free Zurich Airport network. The partner gym, Airport Fitness in the terminal complex, charges CHF 19 for a day pass including classes. A meeting room can be booked by the hour.

Overnight check-in is from 2:00 pm until midnight and check-out by 10:30 am; day use runs from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. A city tax of CHF 2.50 per person per night is added. There is no car park; the airport’s P1 to P6 are a few minutes away.

From arrivals, follow the signs for Check-in 1; from the station, follow Hotels and then Capsule Hotel past the small Coop and take the three lifts on the left.
